It was a cold and frosty morning. Bright light was streaming into the front yard and illuminating the still blooming heather. The frost was gently melting as the warm light fell upon it. It is certain, winter is upon us.
This was a fun one. I walked by these flowers in a nearby park the day before and thought, those look really cool, I wish I had my camera. By the time I got back from the playground with my kid, the sun had gone down. So I went back the next day at around the same time. I'd like to say I used a fancy tool to find out when sunset was, but I didn't. :-P
Anyway, I had this idea of a close up of the flowers with lots of lens flare. Turns out, no flare, but I'll take it.
And on an educational note, fireweed is useful for all kinds of stuff. You can make tea from the leaves, and use the seed fluff for starting fires.
