We went out to a corn maze this weekend. But really it was a pumpkin patch, but I'm not really a fan of pumpkin patches. Not sure why. I think it's the walk in the mud, and then most of the pumpkins are moldy. But I digress. We went out to the corn maze, and had some fun. On the way out, I saw this really cool stand of maple trees. This particular ones are acer rubrum. I cajoled the rest of the family into stopping with me.
When I got out to the field, there was a wedding shoot going on. Pretty fun to see, so I stayed clear of them. Who wants an extra dude in their wedding photos? Anyway, I trundled on down to this spot. Where there was another family(!) taking photos too. Imagine a few toddlers and a haggard looking mom trying to take their photos with a cell phone. It was amusing.
The trees were in perfectly straight rows, and I liked that one side had beautiful leaves and the others were gone. The maple tree in the middle was actually an entire line of maple trees going down to the road! I liked that it divided the photo into a light side and a dark side. If one were inclined to make Star Wars references, one might say this was a forest of acer lightsaberus's.
